I believe Donald has a very valid point here about all of us in the same
boat. I find OpenSRS' business model most interesting, it competes by
"taking" in entrepeneurs like us who will risk it to make it big. They
did it by sharing their operating system with us for a percentage. Their
business model is to grow bigger by helping us to grow. All they have to
do is to build one function and it can be promoted to all.
But what happen to us, do we fight among ourselves or do we help each
other ? It depends on who we define as our competitors. I see my
competitors as Register.com etc, the big guys who made it big in only 2
years. I do not know why ? But even they are seeking alliance all around
to shore their services.
In the same way, we are the soldiers here, Open SRS is the genrals,
backers, we need to have more service to compete with big boys, like email
forwarding etc. And like all soldiers, there will be heroes who made it
home, many don't, many just forgotten. What is most important is not to
hit each other while on the battle field, ok. Cheers
