OpenSRS whois

Hello,

I wrote a whois script , when I try to connect to the opensrs whois server
 whois.opensrs.net) , I gets the message Can not Open, whereas I am able to
check when I try to connect it with any whois client , it shows me the
results.

Any Help with regards to setting up this whois script to fetch data from
whois.opensrs.net server will be highly appreciated.
