Greetings folks,

We are getting ready to launch version 1 of phpDomain, now that
most all bugs have been worked out. We will likely continue the
process of licensing the software under the GPL/LGPL (probably the
later), but will charge a distribution fee.

The fee will allow a user to download the software and get access
to updates for that version (ie all updates in the v1 tree), with
the next major update (major being tons of new features, etc)
being the next major version.

What would you be willing to pay for our software? We can't make
this happen without your support: we have the features we need
ourselves, and if the OpenSRS community (YOU) want us to continue
development, you guys will have to chip in and pick up some of the
costs.

Also, if you wish to contribute funds for the development, we have
set up a contributions system through paypal at:
http://www.thinkhost.com/software/phpdomain/contribute.txt

We are looking at a download fee of maybe $100-150? Would that be a
reasonable fee? I think that’s the minimum reasonable to ask from
a business that makes money from our software. What would you be
willing to pay?

Would you also be interested in buying support contracts or installation
services? If so what would be a fair price that you'd be willing to
pay?

Please contact me directly or through the list.

All contributions are greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for your
support.

Sincerely,
                                    )))))
