We are looking to sell the entire phpDomain codebase together with the
website and domains (phpdomain.net and phpdomain.org). While this has
been a profitable project, we are simply looking to concentrate on
our core hosting business and building that up, rather than venturing
off into OpenSRS development. The software had originally been developed
for use on our own sites, so this has been quite a detour for us in
selling the software, and there is a definite need for us to focus our
available resources on our core business.
The sale will include:
- All rights to the phpDomain code (excellent intellectual property).
The base software is licensed as LGPL, with the bulk, billing
and a number of advanced features including .au registy support only
available under a restricted commercial license to buyers. You may
of course change the licensing structure as you deem fit, as the new
owner.
- There is excellent potential for new sales, but also for selling the
existing customers new versions of the software or other related
services or products. The customer database is fairly large, but we
will request that the new owner agrees to comply with a privacy
statement assuring that the customer data is not sold to third parties.
- Website design, content and domains - phpdomain.net / phpdomain.org
The site was professionally designed and we'll fully turn everything
over to you.
- License to use the members area software that allows for sale of the
phpDomain software (we own the members area itself and would consider
selling the software together with phpDomain if buyer is interested).
- We will put you in touch with the developer, who we suggest you hire
to make further changes to the code, as he's quite competent and is
obviously very aware of the existing code structure.
phpDomain is a full implementation of the OpenSRS system in php with
support for a dozen different payment gateways (the gateway code can
be easily reused in other applications) and a number of other features
including a full admin area, statistics, and bulk domain features.
The phpDomain software now includes support for AUSRegistry for .au
domain names through the EPP protocol. The protocol is apparently
being adapted by a number of other registrars, and should be fairly
simple to adapt for those registries (Verisign is supposedly one of
them). We have not yet attempted to sell the software to .au resellers,
so that's a whole separate market for the new owner to explore.
This sale is a great opportunity for someone who already sells pre-
built OpenSRS sites, or wants to get into the business. If interested,
we can recommend some awesome designers as well.

are looking for a fair amount. Highest bid would not necessarily be
the one to whom we will sell as the privacy of the customers is very
important, as well as ability to provide good customer service.
All issues that were previously brought up in relation to the licensing
issues and Colin's code have been fully resolved between Colin and the
phpDomain developer and are no longer an issue. I will have no problem
having our legal team draft a transfer of intellectual property agreement
if requested, as well.
