Change to the Mailing List Migration Plans

The people have spoken, and based on overwhelming demand, we have
altered our plan for the mailing list migration.

The need remains for a discussion that system that is consistent no
matter which of our services you use. You shouldn't have to use
communications system A for service X, communications system B for
service Y, and so on.

However, you *should* be able to have discussions in your preferred
format.

With this in mind, we are altering the plan so that you will be able to
participate in discussions via:

        a) *** EMAIL! ***
        b) newsgroups
        c) web
        d) RSS (read-only)

Phorum will still be the core of the system, as it produces better,
more easily-searched archives of discussions since it groups by topic.
While Majordomo, our mailing list software, is still being phased out,
we are currently working on setting up an email gateway that should
allow you to participate in discussions via email, mailing-list style.

I haven't yet been given a timeframe for when the email integration
will be in place, but I am told that the techs are already working on
it and to expect it "sooner rather than later". I'll keep an eye on
this and give you further updates as they happen.

Once again, thank you for all your feedback. Please keep it coming --
either here in discuss-list, in the forum or off-list via email at
jdevilla@tucows.com.
