I'm not sure if you can use ASPEncrypt to solve this problem. As I
understand it, OpenSRS uses a non-standard encryption format (the actual
ordering of the bytes), even though they are using a standard encryption
algorithm.
I have not had time to prove this theory because OpenSRS has yet to document
the stream of bytes sent between client and server. They keep referring to
the Perl source as the documentation, but I have more important things to do
than to learn Perl in order to understand their version of documentation.
As for my credentials, I am the author of CryptoObject,
http://www.cryptoobject.com <http://www.cryptoobject.com> , that is less
expensive (only $100) than ASPEncrypt but uses the same underlying Microsoft
technology. As for my product, I have full documentation, plus lots of
samples, so it is not that hard to write good documentation.
If I had proper documentation, I would gladly write an NT DLL or COM object
that would provide identical functionality as the OpenSRS Perl source. I
would even go so far as to provide the encryption code free to the OpenSRS
community. But what I'm not willing to do is hack code and waste time.

I've been looking at ASPEncrypt, which seems to support most if not all of
the required encryption routines. In all honesty, I have not made any
attempt to try it out. The module is $249 (IIRC) for a single-server
license.

Is there an NT DLL that will acheive the same functionality as the Perl
Modules?
