Re: Questions about fields

I believe (although I may be wrong) that reg_domain is a domain name that
was previously registered using reg_username and reg_password. If this is
included, then the newly registered domain name will be tied to the same
profile as the previously registered domain.

For example:

Today I register abc.com using username bubba pw "today"

Tomorrow I register def.com using username bubba pw "today"

Those are two separate profiles; in order to manage abc.com, I must log in
and make my changes. To manage def.com, I must log out, then log back in.

If I then register ghi.com using username bubba pw "today" domain abc.com,
then I have two domains that are managed under the same profile, and can do
"mass changes" to the admin, tech and billing contacts for those domains.

We did exactly the same thing. This is the first time I've seen the
reg_domain field and we never pass it in the %data, just "domain"
and things work ok here.

Not that it answers your question, but we just create a "username" for
the domain based on one of it's index fields in our local database and
pass it all in one shot.
