Thanks for sharing this. We may implement this as well.
As far as your database question goes, we use MySQL to track client
info, for support reasons only.
Of course, as you mention, there really is no way to keep our database
in sync with changes made, since the OpenSRS system is "open" in the
sense that any client can change information from any other RSP, unless
that RSP intentionally dissallows it by manipulating all client info
sent to and from OpenSRS.
We have chosen not to do this, to allow our customers complete control
of their domain name records (We are an "OpenRSP"). I believe RSPs who
are manipulating client info should be required to disclose this to
clients, since it would impact them severely if they ever needed to
contact OpenSRS directly, and found that they didn't have the "correct"
information for their domain.
