HOLD ON. Wait a minute.
OpenSRS has been advocating (and SHOULD advocate) that we test our script
changes offline, that we plan ahead and thus don't have emergencies. This
is a completely rational approach and I fully agree.
HOWEVER, you now go and drop a new code release in our laps the SAME DAY as
a promotion starts? Where's the preparation and planning stage supposed to
be here? You're contradicting your own statements, and expecting us to make
changes to live systems, under the gun (so to speak).
The practical effect of this message is that a lot of relatively untested
code will be put into play. I thought you wanted to REDUCE the load on your
emergency support?
This code release should have been done A WEEK prior (if not more) to this
kind of promotion.
