Sorry for the boring questions, but if somebody could shed some light on
some zone file issue, I would appreciate it.

Qs:

1) Any tricks to gaining access to file(s)? I faxed application to
nsiregistry but have not heard anything from them

I think you must wait 2 weeks. You will receive a fax with your ID & PASS
and few days later a mail.

2) What is the size of file(s) these days?

GZ files : 440Mo
Text files : 2,7Go

3) Seperate files for com, net, org or one combined file?

Yes

4) Finally, can anyone explain the significance of file changes? I assume
that dom name additions would be new registrations and subtractions would be
doms that have been placed on hold?

Unlucky, no. Files are just NSI's zone file .COM. .ORG. .NET.
