Hi,
My company is about to start selling domain names though Open SRS. At the moment we are
just Nominet members and of course just sell .uk domain names.
Anyway we have our own customer Control Panel, which allows customers to manage all there
domain names under one account, and setup extra free services (web/email forwarding etc).
What we are looking at doing this keeping this, and simply when someone orders a Open SRS
domain name, our scripts just connect to opensrs and exchange the commands.
So the question is, when you register a domain name with Open SRS, it asks for a
username/password for the domain name. Now as our customers already have an account with
us, and we don't want them managing there domain name from anywhere at all but though our
control panel - what do we use as the username/password to register the domain name with
Open SRS?
Do we just make one up (and never give it to the customer), or maybe attach all the domain
names to our own Open SRS account?
Also as our customers are going to be admin contacts for there domain names, would they be
able to for example contact Open SRS support and ask for there username/password, or even
get the password sent to them some how?
Thanks for any help you can give,
Graeme Sandwell
