I am curious what the current status is with regards to the official line
or opinion of OpenSRS. I was wondering if OpenSRS currently has a policy
for tracking and contacting people who are in violation of the GPL in their
modifications of the original OpenSRS client code?
Just curious because this issue has come up from time to time in people I
have seen doing consulting work for people for OpenSRS projects, etc. and
have contacted me. I know that any code work that I do to the OpenSRS
client is, and has to be, released under the GPL, but I am not so sure
other people know that.
Also incase anyone is wondering there is no "magic percentage" of
re-writing the code that gets you off the hook with this either. I have
talked with several of the best copyright lawyers in the US regarding this
due to another different legal case I am involved with currently.
I was just curious if there were processes in place at OpenSRS that covered
this.
