Damn straight it is a real reason.

No. I am registering domains for people who do not wish to do
business with NSI or NSI wannabes.

Do you have eyes? Do you know how to read? This is a skill
that most people aquire before they start working in computers,
        you know.

Were I an "NSI wannabe," I'd be charging 35 bucks a
domain year. I am not. I am giving it away *at
cost,* out of the *kindness of my heart,* becuase
                I *want* to.

This makes absolutely zero sense and smells of sweat-stained
rambling. I made the comment about my client budgets specifically
to point out that neither I nor they are worried too much about
70 bucks or even a thousand bucks per domain year - *when it has
to do with a _client_.* Hell, I'll pay the fees myself and not
        charge back.

        You don't get it.

This is not a *business* for me. This is a *service* I am
        *giving away.*

Like, say, GNU. Or one of the myriad charities that I go and
teach at, or donate money to.
