You obviously have little or no actual experience in a retail business.
Theft/loss is such a normal "cost of sales" in any retail (even wholesale)
business that all business plans and accounting methods ALWAYS allow for it.

The ratio varies depending on the specific industry, but it is such and
established foundation of retail business that the industry even gives a
cutesy euphemism - "inventory shrinkage".

Wouldn't it be nice if, in this thread especially, only those
businesspersons who have had direct, actual experience with CC chargebacks
and theft/fraud loss
reply ... and the dreamers and perfect-worlders keep the delusions to a
minimum.
