This is nothing really new. The ease with with domains can be hijacked has
been a discussion point on domain-policy for a long long time. Russ Smith and
I were each interviewed by Internet.com last year after the godhatesfags.com
hijacking. Nothing much has really changed since.
Bear in mind that most, if not all hijackings stem from the MAIL-FROM
authentication scheme at NetSol. Any domain on OpenSRS (or register.com,
or pretty well any other registrar) are immune from *that* type of
hijacking. (If you write your opensrs userid/password on a post-it and
leave it out somewhere you are open to the same treatment)
And in a backhanded way it it's pretty good for OpenSRS resellers, as
people defect from NetSol in droves.
