Brent,
Register.cgi bypasses *EVERYTHING* and registers the domain immediately...no
ifs, ands, or buts. The intention of register.cgi is to give a skeleton
with the absolute necessities for those who are writing their own client
from scratch and want to get some idea of what's needed.
The behavior you describe is documented (I'm sure I've read it, although I
don't recall exactly where), and has been discussed on the list in the past.
Most important (and a good reminder), you should be absolutely certain that
the generic register.cgi is *not* in your cgi-bin directory on your
production server, as it could be used to register domains against your
reseller account, and you'd have no recourse or ability to stop the
registrations before they are processed!

Eric Longman

Subject: register.cgi
Good Day Everyone!
We have been setup and using the OpenSRS system for awhile now, and we
are quite pleased with it.
However today I noticed an oddity... I used the register.cgi system on
our servers internally here, processed the order etc.
The order now shows up in our "Active Domains" area, but for some reason
it does not show up in "Completed Orders" nor does it have an associated
"Order #" that I can find.
The other strangeness was the fact that we have "Process Orders
Immediately" not checked (In other words it puts everything in the
pending orders area). And the domains never in fact showed up in the
pending orders area...
Any ideas? or has anyone else experienced this?
Brent
