Well, first of all, I'm pretty new to OpenSRS and I have to say, at
first (and second) glance, the documentation is really weak. I've
registered hundreds of domains myself over the years mostly
without too much problem (even in the olden days before the nice
web interfaces), but I'm left either guessing or reading through the
source code to figure out what to use when with OpenSRS. I hope
that improving the documentation is among the top priorities for
developers.
At any rate, I do have a question. I want to transfer an existing
domain using OpenSRS, but that domain was registered through
another registrar (bulkregistrar.com). I can't seem to find any way
to do a domain transfer without being asked for a credit card
number - do I have to pay just to transfer a domain that's already
paid for two years? Oh, and incidentally, it doesn't even tell me how
*much* I'll have to pay - the form simply requests the credit card
number. I realize that the form end users are presented with can be
customized, but using this generic one, is literally anyone foolish
enough to just type in their credit card number?
Anyway, any pointers to more documentation would be greatly
appreciated - I'd rather not spend hours digging through the source
trying to figure it out.
Thanks in advance,
Barry
