Hi,
The answers to my questions are probably staring me in the face.
I appologize if this has been answered before. I believe I've done my homework and searched all of these lists, as well as all the readme and install files. It seems a lot of folks are having simple problems as well. However, I think I've passed all of those, but CRYPT::DES has me stumped.
I installed everything as expained in the instructions, which are barely instructions. By the way once I have this figured out, I volunteer to write instructions.
When I run the verify_install.cgi the return is:
Checking for Digest::MD5... OK!
Checking for Crypt::DES... Not found!
Checking for Crypt::Blowfish... Not found!
Checking for Crypt::CBC... OK!
Logging into OpenSRS server...Couldn't load Crypt::DES: Can't locate Crypt/DES.pm in @INC ..... etc.
I saw that someone else had a similar situation and was told to check for spaces or carriage returns in the conf file (the pass key). I don't believe that's my problem. I've checked, and the OpenSRS.conf file seems ok. The conf is set for 'DES', so blowfish shouldn't even be in question. However, why can't it find DES. Manually I find des.pl not .pm, so I suspect that could be part of it.
There's something here that totally escapes me. The instructions say that CBC 1.23 is included - but it's not. Separately in the Download Library is CBC 1.20. Am I supposed to locate CBC 1.23 on my own? I found a site with DES and it has a ton of files in the archive. It's got to be simpler than this.
I'm on my own server, so access to any directory or any file is not a problem.
Any straightforward solution are highly desired. Thanks in advance.
Bill
