Well, I agree that it's a problem; however, it's more problem of perception
than one that can actually cause anyone harm. The issue is basically that
NSI billing system seems to be out of synch with its registration database,
and so once a domain leaves for greener pastures (as close to a cow joke as
I'm likely to make on list), NSI's billing arm still thinks they have it.
I've been sending all documentation that I receive on this issue to ICANN
who raise the issue with NSI. So, please send me:
a) a letter explaining your angle
b) any notices from NSI (Final Notice, Deactivation Notices, etc.)
c) any correspondence that you've sent to NSI to complain.
Fax all correspondance to: (416) 531-2516 ATTN: Ken Joy
Also, you can write directly to NSI, although I don't have an email address
that I know will work for you.
Lastly, one way to satisfy yourself that all is well is to attempt to pay
the invoice at NSI's online payment page
(http://www.networksolutions.com/payments); you'll find that the system
won't accept payment (it, at least, seems to know what's going on.)
Hope this helped,
Ken
