Some people have reported success in using http://www.dialpad.com/ when
calling NSI. The only cost is whatever you pay for your Internet
connection.

Do a whois on any domain registered via OpenSRS, like ibusiness.com for
example. No NIC handles to be found.

Correct, only domains registered via Network Solutions Registrar. By the
way, they pull those reports from their accounting system, not from whois.

Network Solutions Registrar and NSI Registry are separate divisions.
Network Solutions Registrar does not have direct access to data at NSI
Registry.

Sign up for gTLD zone file access at NSI Registry:
http://www.nsiregistry.net/Tld/gltdzpro.html

Note however this will only give you data for .com .net and .org domains.
You still won't know what ccTLD's are referencing your name servers.
