As I understand it, .name will only be made available as third-level domain
names, i.e. you can register "bob.smith.name", but you cannot register
"smith.name". I have a hard time believing customers will be willing to pay
enough to register a third level domain name to make reselling them
worthwhile. Maybe I'm wrong.

Maybe I could register a. through z. in all the popular surnames, and then
sell fourth level domains like "bob.m.smith.name". Oh damn, I shouldn't
have said that in a public forum - now someone will get the jump on me.
