I thought some of you may be interested in Thawte's (Verisign's) new
pricing model for wildcard certs. I don't know if this applies to
renewals (we will find out a year from now). They did not send out any
announcements about this change. We only discovered it while trying to
help a customer get a new cert. We had to e-mail them for details as they
don't have any information about it posted on their website.

>From Thawte:

The initial wildcard certificate is 400 us$ to be renewed yearly.

You will need a license for every sub domain you create under the main
domain.

1-5 licenses 50 us$ per license.
6-25 licenses 35 us$ per license.
26-100 licenses 25 us$ per license.
101-500 licenses 15 us$ per license.

Let me know how many sub domains you want to create under the main domain
and I will prepare the agreement for you.

Once we receive the signed agreement from you I will mail you a token and
the instructions on how to order the certificate.
