Eric Longman writes:
"Speaking for myself, YES, I'd be interested in having the back-ordering
services available to me. The only caveat I would have is that I would want
it to follow the RSP model that Tucows now uses, under which my customers
are my customers, and I am free to develop my relationship with my customer
without interference."
And Joel Moss:
"Amen to that!"
We are currently building an API for exactly this reason - because TUCOWS
has assured us that its resellers would want one; because MelbourneIT and
BulkRegister and Register.com and GoDaddy and others have also requested
one; and because we know without asking that an API would provide the
highest value to our partners. The API will be ready in a few months; in
the meantime, like NSI, we see no reason to leave money on the table. 97%
of customer look-ups fail, and without a back-ordering capability that's all
lost revenue.
