Some additional points/answers to questions I have recently been asked re:
.info real-time integration.
1. .biz real-time registration will not be addressed at this time - it is
looking like they will be pushing real-time registrations back another week,
although this is unofficial at the current time.
2. Registrants of .info domains will be forced to enter phone numbers in the
+9.9999999 format. This way there will be no guessing conversion in the
server. At first this validation will only be in the server, but in an
upcoming release of the client, the validation will be included.
3. The minimum 8 character requirements for .info passwords applied to
preregistration only. All synchronous registrations will work identical to
.com registrations. The domains 'password' in the registry will be randomly
generated by OpenSRS. The registrant will be able to see and edit this
value in manage. (After the 60 day lock period)
4. .info real time registrations will be compatible with client code v.2.2
and above.
5. Horizon environment - We are doing are best to have this available by
5:00pm EDT, Friday September 28. However if it is deemed that this
environment is not stable, the Horizon environment will be delayed until
Monday, October 1, 2001.
6. Status messages as of September 27, 2001. Once Afilias has processed all
names, the following status messages are applicable:
Denied - preregistration UNSUCCESSFUL in the Afilias round robin selection
Received - preregistration SUCCESSFUL in the Afilias round robin selection,
however reseller is required to add funds to account in order to change
status message (ONLY APPLICABLE TO RESELLERS WITH EXTENDED CREDIT)
Completed - preregistration SUCCESSFUL in the Afilias round robin
selection - reseller awarded domain
Need Transfer (PREMIUM ONLY) - preregistration SUCCESSFUL in the Afilias
round robin selection - reseller awarded domain but must transfer to Tucows.
