The class-action approach is typically one that fattens up the lawyers with
big fees. You may have noted that the proposed Microsoft settlement allows
them the captive customer of under-funded schools for years to come. This is
bad? Is this worth billios? No way. Microsoft couldn't buy our schools! No
they have them.
On on positive note, Verisign has just announced a new policy:
"This new process, to be implemented in mid-December, will notify you of
upcoming renewals approximately 45 days earlier in the process."
This is good for all. In the most recent claims, NSI notified us but 20-25
days prior to lock-out. Now they will -- finally -- be alerting everyone to
upcoming renewals.
