I pulled up an "early map of the ARPANET" and searched all the nodes that
were educational. Most of the institutions registered sometime in 1985,
with a couple stragglers waiting until 1986.
This search was essentially 6-8 nodes so it really didn't take much! :-)#
Berkeley was a guess too... I remembered that Berkeley and MIT were a
couple of the early ARPANET (the precursor to the Internet) proponents.
Then I just *had* to look up a list of nodes incase there was another site
that was earlier.
