When answering their survey, and if you say you've transferred a domain in
the last 6 months to Tucows, it says:
How did you or your company authorize the transfer of the domain name?
__ My ISP did it for me
__ Through their customer service organization
__ E-mailed a form
__ Mailed a form
__ Directly on their web site
__ Faxed a form
__ Never authorized the transfer
Other (SPECIFY) ____________
None of the answers appear to be suitable. Shouldn't there be one, like:
__ Submitted the request to the new registrar, who in turn, emailed the
admin contact, had the admin visit a website with a temporary password.
Waited serveral days. Went to register.com and confirmed the transfer on
their website too.
Instead, I can't help but think we'll see some headline in the near future
which says:
REGISTER.COM SURVEY REPORTS 70% DOMAINS TRANSFERRED WERE AUTHORIZED BY ISP
AND NOT BY DOMAIN OWNER
..or some other silliness, due to the way the question/answer is worded on
the survey.
