Transfer to OpenSRS... but when

Hi All,

i've just (9th April) got a domain name through SnapNames and it was
registered through Directi.com - apparently, they don't use OpenSRS for
snapback anymore...

my question is when should I transfer it to OpenSRS... ?

I was going to do it now, but a little voice in the back of my head said
that if I transfer it now, I might not get an additional year put on...
also, wasn't sure if I could transfer within the first 60 days...

anyway, I cancelled the transfer I had initiated until I know a bit more..

should I wait 6 months to ensure i've got plenty of time to get it
transferred.. ?
