authenticatie code for transfer of .info

Hello,

Another question regarding .info this time : )

It is neccessary to have auth-code. But when does it need to be used? At
replying to e-mail, should it be sended by fax, or...?

I'm curious, because I have to explain to costumer what is going to happen,
but I'm not sure about this one...
