No, DETAGGED means the company who the domain name was brought from/managed from detagged
it. The orginal owner still owns it, and can get it back should they wish.
We are Nominet members, and when a customer doesn't pay a renewal we detag the domain
name, which is the same as saying "we don't want anything else to do with it". Nominet
then start a process which can last up to 1 year. They try and contact the orginal owner
directly asking if they want the domain name. If the owner wants it again, the owner has
to re-tag it to a domain name company who are Nominet tag holders.
A .uk domain name doesn't function should it not be tagged somewhere.
If they don't the domain name is suspensed. A few months later, the domain name is put
back on the market.
