Actually, there is a better answer:
The WHOIS system and the DNS system are independent and unrelated.
The DNS system is used to translate domain names into addresses so that
your computer can connect to other computers and services that you want.
The WHOIS system is informational only and, alas, often wrong.
Fortunately this does not impact the operation of your network services.
