Re: ? about transfer away from openrs.

Hi,

I had a bit of experience with this a few months agore. I was on a
conference call with a customer and a register.com customer service rep
trying to complete a transfer away in the day before the domain expired.
Once the admin contact recieved the OpenSRS approval emails and went to
our transfers page to confirm the transfer, we ACK the transfer
immediately to the registry. The register.com rep could see the domain
was pointing to them at the registry level immediately. You can expect
the nic's whois server to take a day or two to update, but the domain
itself points to the new registrar immediately after approval on a
transfer away.

I'm not sure if there has been any changes in the transfer system since,
but if you want to email me the domain in question offlist I can tell you
if it's pointing to us at the registry level.

Hope this helps.

Frank / OpenSRS Support.
