I am a little unsure as to what you mean specifically. Are you talking about
orders on domains BEFORE we delete them after the 40 day grace period which
we can not and will not do, or do you mean some type of service similar to
aftermarket companies that compete against each other to get names when they
become available for registration at the time (Literally minute) of release
by the registry?
The process is basically the following:
Domain Expiry (Day 0) => 40 day Tucows Grace Period => Tucows Deletes domain
from our system => 30 day Registry Redemption Period => 3-6 day Registry
PENDING DELETE status => DROP or registration availability for any registrar
including those companies or Registrars that focus on this service which I
mentioned above.
Please keep in mind that once a domain exits the grace period, we delete the
domain and it no longer resides in our system when it goes into redemption.
Although we can REDEEM the domain for the ORIGINAL registrant at the
reseller's discretion where we basically pay the registry a fee for pulling
the name back into our system, again only for the ORIGINAL registrant, we do
not have the ability to process orders for this domain for third parties
until the name becomes available for registration by anyone.
We do not currently provide any way of getting these names through any
special processes other than a normal registration attempt through your
account after release by the registry. Although, we are always looking to
provide what our resellers are requesting so if you would like to see
something specific that does not circumvent the process above please let us
know.

I suggest that it would be a very excellent feature for OpenSRS to allow
orders on expiring domains, to be processed when the domain expires.
I'd certainly be willing to pay more for such an order (e.g. $10 in addition
to registration fee).
I also suggest that it may reduce the load on OpenSRS from those registrars
trying implement this service themselves.
OpenSRS could require the domain be in REDEMPTIONPERIOD or PENDINGDELETE
status in order to place such an order, to minimize the volume.
