The reason for this is our nameservers do not provide recursive lookups,
so it'll just tell you the authoritative root nameservers that will give
you the information required.
I'd like to see what results you are able to get from dns1.tucows.com
for .com, .net, .org domains that we are not authoritative for. My
tests show that I just a list of the root servers for .com, .net, etc.
Hope this addresses your concerns.
