REGISTRAR-HOLD and domain expiry

This seems a bit strange to me. Maybe it isn't.

   Registrar: TUCOWS, INC.
   Whois Server: whois.opensrs.net
   Referral URL: http://www.opensrs.org
   Name Server: NS1.removed.COM
   Name Server: NS2.removed.COM
   Status: REGISTRAR-HOLD
   Updated Date: 20-jun-2003
   Creation Date: 19-jun-2002
   Expiration Date: 19-jun-2004

We are not the reseller for the domain in question, so I don't have
access to any more information than that. I gather that Tucows places
domains in REGISTRAR-HOLD after expiry (which *did* lapse on
19-Jun-2003)... but why does the expire date now show 19-jun-2004?
Does this mean the domain has been renewed by the current registrant
after expiry? Or will this domain still go to REDEMPTIONPERIOD in the
next eight or ten days?

Thanks,
- Ryan
