I miss the old OpenSRS.
The OpenSRS where issues such as this used to be debated on the lists
(at least sometimes) before they were implemented.
The OpenSRS where my account manager used to email me every now and then
just to see how things were going.
The OpenSRS where support didn't operate under the assumption that the
customer is wrong until he proves himself right; the last several times
I've contacted support about anything other then routine issues, the
experiences have been horrible.
The OpenSRS that added features that would be useful to its resellers.
Honestly, how many times a week does the average reseller need his
password emailed to him? Yet, for example, the transfer failure
notifications still don't include any information other than the domain
and an order number - in order to notify a customer that his transfer
has failed, I have to login to the RWI, look up the order number, find
the affiliate ID, and then look in my database for an email address to
go with that affilate ID. Adding even just the affiliate ID to those
emails would save me time every week (a suggestion I made to OpenSRS
three years ago)...but now I have the ability to email my password to
myself in plaintext wihtout contacting OpenSRS support. Woo hoo.
Sorry for the rant...I guess it's just the culmination of a bunch of
small things over the last year or so.
