And of course, the last time this came up it was also dismissed as mere
silly rumor, and of course, nothing happened. End of story.

On a presumably unrelated note, the Tucows second quarter financial
statement press release[1] contains:

"These gains were partially offset by $566,000 in expenses for
professional fees and costs related to the evaluation of strategic
alternatives. The company has concluded not to proceed with these
alternatives."

Spending over half a million dollars on professional fees to "evaluate
strategic alternatives" certainly made me think of due diligence for an
acquisition when I first read it. But Tucows pretty clearly implied there
was no basis whatsoever to the rumor on this list, so I'm obviously
completely wrong.

(Although in that case, as a stockholder I am curious what project Tucows
spent half a million dollars just to evaluate, then abandoned....)
