What you need to realize is that the original ICANN-Verisign contract
written by Joe Sims was so full of cock-up's that ICANN had to go
crawling back to Verisign, tail between it's legs, to get some clauses
re-done. Verisign, of course, took this opportunity to get their .com
"stewardship" changed to a perpetual one. Funnily enough, Joe Sims ALSO
did the re-write, got paid TWICE and walked away from ICANN with a
pocket full of cash.
Good job ICANN!
