It's not Afilias. It's Schlund, a member of Afilias, who is pushing this.
They really *want* it, because it gives them a marketing advantage in
Germany, so they will be going to push it heavily. And everyone else in
Germany needs to follow or lose this money to them.
Multilinguals will be useless for still several years, but they will be
useful finally. The problem is that they are registered *now* and anyone who
wants to have "good" ones has to play the game *now* - if he wants or not. I
hate seeing all these customers going to Schlund because they will get them
there.
