Well, the questions I have now:

1. when will Tucows possibly convert?
2. new registrations: what happens currently when I register a multilingual
domain? VGRS say they convert it, but what about name clashes? I assume you
look for the bq-- name, won't find one and register it. VGRS converts to xn--
and suddenly finds there's already one xn--. Can this happen or is this not
going to happen?
3. transfers: are transfers possible at all now? I imagine a lot of problems
transferring from/to bq--/xn-- registrars.
4. management: is managing possible at all now? I unlocked a domain and the
result page showed "lock disabled", but I'll have to wait for a whois update
to see if it was really done.
5. whois data: are you going to provide an additional xn-- alias as long you
only have bq-- names on the whois? At the moment I can find only xn-- names
on the VGRS whois, but this won't help to get the relevant data because the
Tucows whois carries only bq--.

I'd appreciate a quick answer on these, thanks!
