Also if they fail to renew they will get an invoice in the post asking them
to contact
Tucows or pay Nominet £80 directly.
This can be confusing and I would recommend you put something abou tthis on
your web site
so you can point them to it if/when it happens for an explanation.

The period of 2 years was discussed at a recent members meeting.
The reason for 2 years is (apparently) that this is the average life of a UK
business.
Therefore if registrations of longer than 2 years were permitted a domain
might
not come back into the pool for registration by someone else even though the
original registrant was no longer in business.
I am in favour of having 1 to 10 year registration options
with one year being the same cost price as 2 years but allowing us to
discount it
because we are only having to provide services and management for one year.
I get the feeling that Nominet are more open to discussing this issue than
they have bene in the past
so watch this space.
