That *is* excellent news. Thanks for passing it along.

One thing I'd be interested to know, but can't find the answer to on
VeriSign's FAQ page about this change[1], is whether the TTL value will
still be 48 hours. If it is, that will mean that although new domains
will be added immediately, and new visitors to a site will see the
changes immediately (both of which are welcome improvements), people who
have recently visited a site will still have to wait up to 48 hours to
see the change. Since the owner of a domain undergoing a DNS change is
likely to be a person who has recently visited his own site, the owner is
normally one of the last people to see the effect of the change, which
leads to complaints about slow response when people update their DNS (as
opposed to, say, .biz domains, where the TLD TTL is just 2 hours).
