I'd be willing to bet money that the big players in the drop business
are in it for "speculation" purposes. Many of them are not really that
interested in selling the domains they get in the drop. The real
speculators these days are the registrars who grab the names and then
auction them off immediately - which is what Snapnames is about to
start doing.

Although the opensrs system faired OK in the earlier days, these days
to be competitive, they would have to buy a whole bunch of registrar
connections. Just using opensrs's ones would prove to be even less
effective than Snap was in the last days prior to changing their
grabbing model. :^)
