OK, this is what I was missing, it's in the manage interface not the RWI.
However:

This just returns an error:

Unable to add nameservers: Command failed: unable to verify existence of
nameserver ns.westnet.com

ns was previsouly a CNAME. Changed to an A record, no effect. Added ns1 as
an A record in case ns was cached, propagated -- no effect, still "unable to
verify existence of nameserver"
