(a) why should people have to use a separate product to read messages?
(b) unless people choose to fire up some THIRD product now (their
existing mail reader that isn't going away, an RSS aggregator, and now
either a web browser or an NNTP application) they are completely unable
to actually *participate*.

Going from a one-app solution to a three-app solution seems to *me*
anyway, to be extremely non-useful.
