It hath once been written:

I can not stress strongly enough the reason why email lists are so
successful:
they work!

They fulfill the needs of recipients, no matter what the platform, software,
personal preferences, etc.

_Everyone_ does email in one way or another. There are no exceptions to this
rule.

People can discuss what majority and/or minority of software categories and
platforms may or may not support specific features (e.g. RSS, NNTP, etc.).
But,
it all becomes irrelevent when considering them against email.

There is just no dispute that _everyone_ does email.

I am sorry, but this does make it _very_ clear that "making things simpler"
and
moving away from an email based discussion list are _not_ compatible
statements
that can co-exist for any situation.

There will always be individual exceptions, almost always involving capable
platforms and preferences of those individuals. But, this does not override
the
"simplicity of the majority".

Conclusion is simple: moving away from email based discussion lists will hurt
Tucows in the long run.

JIC, assuming that this is all recognized by Tucows, then what is the _real_
reason that this is being done? I am not trying to be accusatory with this
framing of the question, just making it clear that this is where the logical
steps must lead when taking these considerations in mind.

Cheers!
